Carters Lake

 

Carters Lake is Georgia's deepest lake at over 450 feet; it covers approximately 3220 acres and has 62 miles of shoreline. It is located in Murray County, about twelve miles south of Chatsworth. It is formed by Carters Dam (the highest earthen dam east of the Mississippi River) damning the Coosawattee River.
