Lake Allatoona

Lake Allatoona

 

Lake Allatoona is located near Cartersville and approximately 30 miles northwest of Atlanta. It covers parts of Cherokee County, Bartow County, and a small portion of Cobb County. The lake is 12, 010 acres in size and has 270 miles of shoreline. It is formed by Allatoona Dam on the Etowah River, and has been in operation since 1950.
